I am still using Windows XP. I hear support is going to end in April for Windows XP, and I do not want to upgrade to Vista or Windows 7.
I have two hard drives on this computer, and I want to get a feel for Linux and install a Linux system on one of my hard drives.

I am running Ubuntu 8.04 release on my Intel Pentium III with 256 RAM. If i upgrade to Ubuntu 9.10 will it slow my computer or will my computer be faster than it is now?
